Managing Director and founder Dominik Hepp is a former medical technology student at Ulm University of Applied Sciences. Motivated by personal experiences in his past, he made the decision to focus his professional future on the guiding principle of empowering motion.
An idea became a vision, the vision became HKK Bionics GmbH and after several years of development he proudly presents the exomotion® hand one today.
Alissa Frank has been an important part of the company since the very beginning. Now, in addition to her role as CFO and HR Manager, she is also taking on responsibility as the new Managing Director. Her extensive commitment and many years of experience will be a valuable asset for the future management of the company.
Our Team
An interdisciplinary team – from medical technology, engineering and business administration, specializing in the healthcare system, to theses and students in their practical semesters, who always bring a breath of fresh air with them: At HKK Bionics, we combine the necessary skills and motivation within our historic walls to make “empowering motion” more than just a slogan.
Together, we are working on solutions to allow paralyzed hands to regain access.
Mission
HKK Bionics GmbH is a young spin-off of Ulm University of Applied Sciences. We develop and market novel, active, bionic orthoses. In doing so, we combine groundbreaking technologies, innovative concepts, state-of-the-art manufacturing methods and traditional orthopaedic craftsmanship into a compact high-tech product that restores new mobility and valuable quality of life to people with severe motor impairments.
Vision
In cooperation with medical supply stores, we will provide patients with active orthoses that are individually tailored to their anatomical and motor needs. In this way, we can compensate for a lack of physical abilities and the associated functional limitations in the best possible way. The aim of our orthoses is to make it much easier for patients to participate independently in everyday life. After all, less restriction of movement means more freedom.

We, HKK Bionics GmbH, are a multi-award-winning MedTech start-up from Ulm. With the exomotion® hand one, we have developed the first motorized hand orthosis of its kind, which allows completely paralyzed hands to grasp again. We are looking for a full-time Technical Support Field Service (m/f/d) for the Central Germany location as soon as possible.
