exomotion® hand one GEN2
What is the exomotion® hand one?
The exomotion ® hand one is a motorized orthosis for paralysed hands. It is manufactured as a patient-specific aid in order to be able to grip again.
How does the exomotion® hand one work?
A sensor on the skin surface detects the slightest muscle signals. The orthosis control uses this to control the motors and thus open and close the fingers.
- Exomechanics: Stretch and bend the individual finger stalls in a targeted manner
- Finger stalls: Individually made, you transmit the power to the fingers
- Strap: Hinged headband for easier donning and doffing, stabilizes metacarpal and wrist (only partially visible)
- Twist Closure: Closes the strap on the palm of your hand
- Artificial tendons: Transfer grip force from the drive to exomechanics
- Arm splint: Stabilizes the forearm and metacarpal in the desired position
- Drives: Replace the missing muscle power (built into the orthosis)
- Sensor: Controls the orthosis, is placed individually and usually incorporated into the orthosis (not shown)

For whom is the exomotion® hand one suitable?
The suitability for an aid must always be considered individually. Paralysis with residual function in the upper arm and free finger joints offer good conditions.

- Polyneuropathy
- Traumatic brain injury
- Spinal muscular atrophy
- Cervical paraplegia (complete or incomplete)
What options are there for very poor upper arm function?
The exomotion® hand one can be used alone or in combination with an upper arm splint for mechanical elbow support.

What can the exomotion® hand one do?
The exomotion® hand one was developed as a functional and reliable tool for everyday life, so that hands can grip again despite flaccid and spastic paralysis. It is also being used successfully for partial paralysis and weakened hands. It supports many gripping processes and helps in particular with ambidextrous activities.

exomotion® passive hand & passive finger
What are the exomotion® passive hand & passive fingers?
The exomotion passive hand and the exomotion®® passive finger are mechanical exomechanical fittings for the production of custom-made products. These are sold exclusively to specialist companies in the field of technical orthopaedics. These, in turn, are used to build a wide variety of orthoses. Exomechanics are often used to treat patients who only suffer from an extension deficit of the fingers.
