Dominik
Dominik Hepp is the Managing Director and founder of HKK Bionics GmbH. As a former medical technology student at Ulm University of Applied Sciences, driven by personal experiences, he dedicated himself to the guiding principle of “empowering motion.” What began as an idea evolved into a vision – and ultimately led to the development of the exomotion® hand one, which he proudly presents today.
Beyond product development and patient interaction, Dominik enjoys cooking, grilling, woodworking, and classic cars in his leisure time.

Alissa
Alissa Frank has been an integral part of HKK Bionics GmbH from the beginning and now serves as Managing Director, CFO, and HR Manager, taking on central responsibilities within the company. After earning her bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, she joined HKK Bionics directly.
In her free time, Alissa coaches a youth soccer team or immerses herself in the world of Harry Potter through reading.
She is particularly moved by the moment when a patient wears the exomotion® hand one for the first time.

Alina
Since 2023, Alina has strengthened our design team as an R&D engineer. She develops arm splints and mechanics for the exomotion® product family, bringing her experience directly into product development.
In her free time, she enjoys being in nature, hiking, and engaging in creative hobbies like sewing or playing the harp when the weather doesn’t cooperate.
Alina studied medical technology and biomedical engineering in Stuttgart and Tübingen and subsequently worked as an R&D engineer in heart valve prosthesis development.
“I greatly appreciate the young, cheerful team and the open communication. It brings me great joy to contribute to improving our patients’ quality of life through my work.”

Alicia
Alicia has been part of our design team since November 2024. She develops arm splints for the exomotion® product family and works in mechanical research and development.
Her passions include sports, travelling, and photography. On rainy days, she dedicates herself to DIY projects at home.
Alicia studied medical technology (bachelor’s) and systems engineering and management (master’s), wrote her master’s thesis in Norway, and has been involved in prosthetics and orthotics ever since.

Charlotte
Charlotte has been strengthening the design team since November 2024, focusing on mechanics and arm splint development.
Water is her element – whether diving or sailing.
She studied medical engineering (bachelor’s) in Villingen-Schwenningen and medical device design/biomedical engineering (master’s) in Stuttgart. Her thesis focused on heart valve development.

Maria
Since March 2025, Maria has been supporting the team as Executive Assistant, focusing on accounting, procurement, and office management.
She finds relaxation in walks along the Danube and reading.
With experience from self-employment and as a business administrator, she brings diverse skills to the table.

Bianca
Bianca actively supports our production team.<br>She values the collegial atmosphere and the opportunity to contribute to providing patients with innovative aids through her work.

Nikolett
Since August 2024, Nikolett has been supporting production – from final assembly to service and ERP system maintenance.
She loves outings and drawing.
As an electronics technician and computer scientist, she brings technical expertise.

Softwareentwicklung

Sebastian
Sebastian has been part of HKK Bionics since September 2021 and is privately engaged in climbing, the THW, and high-altitude rescue.
He completed his master’s in medical technology in Ulm and previously worked in another medical technology company.

Viet Duc
Duc has been strengthening the software development team since February, focusing on advancing digital processes.
He relaxes with board games or a good book.
After a bachelor’s in psychology and a master’s in cognitive systems, he gained valuable experience as a software developer in physiotherapy.

Marketing

Madeleine
Since December 2022, Madeleine has been working in marketing, overseeing brand, events, and social media.
She enjoys travelling through Europe in her van, especially to Switzerland.
After a dual business administration degree focusing on event management, she worked as a marketing manager in the software industry.
“The quick decision-making paths, appreciation, and the chance to improve the quality of life for those affected make HKK Bionics special for me.”

Caro
Since January 2024, Caro has been working in marketing, responsible for SEO, SEA, and our social media channels.
Creativity also shapes her leisure time: she draws, screen-prints T-shirts, and enjoys cooking. Metal festivals are the highlight of her year.
After a bachelor’s in information management and corporate communication, she gained diverse experience in online marketing.
“I’m particularly motivated to actively contribute to improving our users’ quality of life.”

Claire
Claire knows the exomotion® hand one from a user perspective and has been part of the team as a working student since May 2024. She supports as a brand ambassador at trade shows and photo shoots and assists in production and design.
In her free time, she’s creative – from 3D printing to baking and sewing – and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
After high school, she studied assistive technologies and is now pursuing her bachelor’s in health management.
“I can meaningfully contribute my own experiences with aids at HKK Bionics. If I can make even a small contribution, I’m happy.”

Sandra
Since November 2024, Sandra has been strengthening the marketing team, overseeing graphic design, social media, and events.
She loves movement – skating, bouldering, snowboarding – and brings creativity to her hobbies.
With a bachelor’s in business administration, she aims to deepen her knowledge in exciting projects.

Julia
Since April 2024, Julia has been supporting the team as an assistant in internal sales.
Privately, she passionately plays pen & paper games and sews for her children.
After high school, she trained as a chemical laboratory technician and worked in quality assurance.

Raphael
Since October 2024, Raphael has been active in technical support field service, providing technical assistance, scans, and repairs.
Sports, hiking, travelling, and spending time with friends define his leisure time.
After a voluntary social year with the DRK and a bachelor’s in medical technology, he gained experience as an intern at HKK Bionics.

Since July 2024, Dennis has been working in technical field sales for Eastern Germany, providing technical support, conducting seminars, and performing screenings.
In his free time, he enjoys engaging in DIY projects and landscape photography.
As a trained orthopaedic technician, he brings extensive experience from both clinical settings and sales.

Joschka
Since September 2024, Joschka has been working in technical field sales for Western Germany, supporting technical assistance and conducting training sessions.
He enjoys spending his free time engaging in sports and hiking with family and friends.
He is a trained orthopaedic technician and previously completed a voluntary social year as an integration assistant in a kindergarten.

Nicole
Since March 2025, Nicole has been working in technical sales for southern Germany and Thuringia. She oversees the application and delivery of orthoses and presents our products at professional events.
For her, leisure time means hiking with her dog, e-bike tours, yoga, as well as drawing and reading.
She is a master orthopaedic technician and physiotherapist with extensive experience in medical supply stores and quality management.

Soner
Since December 2024, Soner has been strengthening the technical field sales team in southern Germany. He presents products, assesses patient suitability, and conducts training sessions.
He spends his free time with family, playing soccer, running, and cycling.
After training as an orthopaedic technician and bandagist, gaining field experience in paediatric orthotics, and obtaining his master’s degree, he most recently led a team in a medical supply store.

Since May 2024, Torben has been working in technical field sales, providing support, screenings, and training sessions.
Kitesurfing and landscape photography are his passions.
After training as an orthopaedic technician, he gained international experience in New Zealand and completed his master’s degree in Heidelberg.

Shared Values & Motivation at HKK Bionics from Ulm
HKK Bionics GmbH is a young spin-off from Ulm University of Applied Sciences, specialising in the development and marketing of novel, active, and bionic hand orthoses. Our goal is to combine innovative technologies, modern manufacturing methods, and traditional orthopaedic craft skills. With the exomotion® hand one, we create a high-tech aid that provides people with motor impairments new freedom of movement and improved quality of life.
In collaboration with medical supply stores, we provide patients with individually adapted, active orthoses tailored precisely to their anatomical and functional needs. Our aim is to compensate for missing physical abilities and thereby facilitate independent participation in daily life – for greater independence and joy of life.
